Q: Where is Incr-Edible Details located?
A: I am currently running Incr-Edible Details LLC under cottage law in my home bakery, in Lynchburg Va located off Langhorn by Linkhorn Elementary and Middle Schools.
Q: How early do I need to order my cake?
A: It's best to order approximately 6-8 weeks in advance of your event. Sometimes, I am able to take last minute orders or fit in an order depending on it's size- So it never hurts to reach out to me about openings.
Q: How far in advance can I book my date?
A: I will only book approximately 3-4 months in advance. I may make an exception for weddings or high profile events or pencil in a date for a quote closer to the scheduled party.
Q: How much does a cake from Incr-Edible Details LLC cost?
A: All of the Incr-Edible Details cakes are custom made / designs and prices reflect that. Size, flavor and most of all the design and decoration on the cake will determine the price. Please contact me for pricing and if there is a budget you need to stay within, let me know and I can do my best to help you get a beautiful cake and stay in your price range.
Q: How do I get a quote?
A: To get started with a quote, we will need the date you would like to pick up your cake, the size of the cake or number of people you are looking to serve, and an idea or theme for the cake. From here, I can check my availability and start designing your cake with you. Once all the details of your order have been settled I can provide a quote based off the finished product.
Q: How do I place an order and book my date?
A: If you have received a quote and wish to finish placing your order, a 50% non-refundable booking fee is required to book your date. I currently accept Zelle, Cash App, Venmo or can arrange a time to meet with you if you prefer. Please note that an order is not placed and a date is not booked until this booking fee is paid and I confirm receipt.
Q: I don't see the cake I am looking for... / I know exactly what I want my cake to look like... Can you still make it?
A: Yes! I can make almost anything! All these cakes you see are custom orders. I have sculpted figures from drawings, made a cake from a sketch on a restaurant napkin, decorated like children's drawings and worked from pictures of cakes that customers have sent me from the internet. Reach out to me with your idea and we can definitely make it into a cake!
Q: Can you deliver cakes?
A: I can deliver some cakes based of the distance and what order schedule looks like. There is a delivery fee based off of distance and for larger cakes requiring assembly at the site or larger orders, a set up fee may apply. Please let me know ahead of time if you will require delivery and set up.
Q: Can you ship?
A: I'm sorry but I can only deliver to a limited area around Lynchburg Va and accommodate pick-ups at this time. Shipping is not available.
Q: Can I change my date after I already booked?
A: Any date changes must be made a minimum of 7 days before the cake is scheduled for pick up and a $25 re-scheduling fee will be due to book the new date if it is available.
Q: Why are booking fees non-refundable & why can't I get a credit if I cancel?
A: I have a very limited schedule and once a date is booked up, I will turn down other cakes for that date. When a date change or cancellation occurs- I have turned down other business to focus on your cake. I also often order or purchase specific supplies for cakes such as special colors of dyes or dusts, materials, boards and boxes for cakes. These items may need to be stored or might not be useable for other designs.
Q: Do I need to keep my cake in the refrigerator?
A: Not necessarily, but it's definitely recommended. My cakes are all made with shelf stable ingredients as required by cottage law in Virginia. This is the reason I can't offer fresh fruits, cream cheese or whipped cream frosting- it requires refrigeration.
BUT- butter and cake softens as it gets warmer- If left out at room temperature for an extended period of time, especially in a warm room, your cake will soften and if left too long it may start to settle and melt and may not look as great as it would had it been kept in a colder environment. My cakes are definitely best enjoyed at room temperature and should be left to sit out for an hour or two before the party (preferably in the closed box to reduce sweating) but storing at room temperature for extended periods before the part will compromise structure and is not recommended.
Q: How long is my quote valid?
A: Your quote for 30 days from the date it was provided.
